Review | Please, Touch The Artwork 2 - Picasso's Puzzles

Please, Touch the Artwork 2 is simple but fun. With a very short playtime of an hour, this game is the perfect little puzzler to get your brain working.

I had a lot of fun with this puzzler title and even found myself laughing at some of it. I am not the best at puzzles, so I was very grateful to find that the game was incredibly forgiving when it came to solving them.

For the most part, Please, Touch the Artwork 2 is a point-and-click meets hidden item collection, which is something I enjoy. However, there are some less forgiving puzzles that may throw you off guard and keep you on your toes.

Immerse Yourself in Art

The immersion that came with this game is something that took me by surprise. I wasn’t expecting to have a different outlook on the way the art looked and the meanings behind them, but the animation that was given to the paintings put them in a whole new light.

What were the people in the paintings talking about? What moods were they in? In a way, Please, Touch the Artwork 2 creates a brand-new atmosphere in the pieces you traverse through, allowing for a range of emotions to be considered depending on the animation or items you find in the art.

For example, I walked through a painting full of faces, some of them animated and some not. With the addition of animation, I was able to create my own story and see the artwork in a different light altogether.

Pesky Puzzles

While most of the puzzles are easy hidden item tasks, some will test your limits (and patience) to the maximum. The tougher puzzles are in the minority and are rewarding when you complete them.

For me, I really struggled with the Simon Says-style puzzle on the piano. I have terrible short-term memory, so having to make my way through a lengthy piano sequence was rather challenging for me and took far too many attempts. There was also a rather tricky spot-the-difference puzzle at the start of the game that had me stumped, clicking aimlessly in hopes of finding the remaining difference I could not spot for the life of me.

Overall, the puzzles are very kind to the player, but there are some along the way that can really trip you up and may make your playtime a bit longer, depending on how much you struggle with them. There were a few that had me scratching my head, but completing them was incredibly satisfying!

For those achievement hunters out there, Please Touch The Artwork 2 is also very easy to get all of the achievements - all you have to do is complete the game!

Overwhelming Noise

There are a variety of sounds that come at you throughout your time with Please, Touch The Artwork 2. From screaming to cheering to weird squelching noises, it can be quite uncomfortable.

Although I didn’t think to check the settings until the very end of the game, you can disable these sound effects if they are causing you issues. While I’m sure the goal is to make it more challenging, it can be rather overwhelming and completely cloud your concentration. For those who may have sensory issues, it can become uncomfortable and somewhat disorienting. Even for those without, while the puzzles can be quite relaxing, the sound effects can be incredibly loud and can become the focal point of the painting.

That being said, the sound design is fantastic with the music choice and the uncomfortable sound effects and does help create an immersive atmosphere that allows you to interpret the art in whatever light you see fit. The sound design allows the player to get lost in the paintings and overall brings a whole new meaning to each painting you come across.

Overall, Please, Touch the Artwork 2 is a fabulous title, and I found myself wanting more of it by the end of the game. It was a lot of fun, and I hope there will be more like this in the future!
